Professional therapy for personal healing.
Welcome to AD Counselling & Wellness Newtownabbey.
Within my busy private practice situated on the Antrim Road, Glengormley, I offer bespoke private therapy & healing. Sessions are delivered in a confidential, non-judgemental, safe comfortable environment. Each session will give you the time and space necessary to make sense of your feelings, process your thoughts, or facilitate you in overcoming any obstacles you may be facing.
Professionally registered I adhere to the ethical guidelines laid down by British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).
Why consider professional help?
Life can at times be challenging, with problems often becoming overwhelming, seeking professional support throughout these difficult times, is the first step in taking control back.
Perhaps you are:-
Struggling to understand damaging thoughts, patterns or behaviours.
Experiencing anxiety, depression or other limiting emotions.
Struggling within your personal/professional relationships.
Coping with trauma or loss.
It may simply be that you need some time to yourself, to process your thoughts and feelings in order to help you make stronger decisions and gain confidence in respective areas of your life.
I work with many a variety of people, as well as a variety of presentations, some common issues being;
Abuse, addiction, alcoholism, anxiety, anger, bereavement, behavioural patterns, bullying, childhood issues, compulsive disorders, confidence building, depression, domestic violence, emotional distress, family problems, grief, intimacy issues, job loss, life changes/adaption, loss, low moods, negative thoughts, relationship, sexual issues, self esteem, stress, trauma, work related issues.
Alternatively people seek to come to therapy as a form of self care, a dedicated time and space to explore the aspects of their life. Helping them to manage wellbeing and nurture their minds. Whatever your needs may be at this time, together we will work your issues.

"Feeling heard is the first step to healing"
How am I different?
I am an integrated Counsellor incorporating all of the main counselling approaches to my therapy, such as;
Person Centred Counselling, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, CBT,
In combining these theories along with my own signature framework I aim to help my clients heal on all levels.
This framework is designed to connect with each element of each individual person, considering their personality as well as the make up of their behaviour, cognitive, and psychological system.
I implore to suit each clients personality - tailoring the therapy to each client, rather than the client to the therapy, I implore to work in a way which compliments the person as they are, facilitate self acceptance, healing, promoting a stronger sense of self whilst working through any issues presented.
Furthermore, I hold qualifications in various holistic and psychological therapies, aiming to support my clients through the therapy process to the very best of my ability (with permission or on request I may incorporate alternative therapies within my sessions).

During this time we all need to make our health and well-being a priority, it is important we follow government guidelines, taking all measures where possible to ensure the health & safety of ourselves and others.
Face to face sessions are now available with social distancing and safety measures in place, however remote therapy will continue to be offered should you prefer.
With enough common sense, consideration, care and compassion for ourselves and each other, we will get through these times.
I have included some tips and advice within the blog section and videos on my Facebook page to help manage mental throughout this time.
